In 2018, the family violence sector was faced with changing funding priorities and the redesign of services aligned with the Calgary Police Service (CPS), Domestic Conflict Response Team (DCRT). Bluerock was engaged to facilitate the evolution of a newly designed, coordinated DCRT response in the Calgary area. The aim was to reach a high level of cooperative coordination within the Domestic Violence sector where a customization of supports, a diversity of service delivery and a continuum of care approach delivers a greater, positive impact.

 Bluerock worked to:

  • Leverage existing supports and services in the community

  • Strengthen the community response to clients

  • Provide support to whole families with an ability for customization of services and supports for the clients.

  • Engage in a triaging of domestic violence community supports and resources

  • Respond to the uniqueness of families served.

The result was processes, systems and structures that supported the implementation and operation of the new Equally Safe/DCRT coordinated system response.  The project involved considerable collaboration among all project partners to create an innovative, updated and sustainable community response aligned with the Calgary Police Service.
